Bands like Green Day, the Offspring, and Pere Ubu boosted punk back in the 90's . This time the weave of lively, simple rock music with melodic popular melodies hang around on radio and MTV. Today, so-called pop punk is a key element in the world of chart music. These 10 music tracks are fine starting points to get closer to pop punk.
1. blink-182 - Enema of the State
In blink-182's inexhaustible struggle to insult all adults in the neighbourhood, this tape shed light upon a girl dressed as an enema au pair girl on the cover. The punk pop on the record is adolescent and never-to-be-forgotten including the monumental hit song “Wendy Clear.”
2. The Donnas - Spend the Night

A band from Maryland Good Charlotte with Paul Thomas got into the top ten of the popular music album chart with this set. It is filled with tales of high school and difficult parents. The big #1 song is “Girls & Boys.”
4. Green Day - American Idiot
After fading from their 90's fleeting surge of popularity, Green Day declined from live performances to put together punk rock's first rock opera. Though the American band was nervous about their fan's reaction to Jesus of Suburbia, it turned out to be a UK punk rock classic topping the album chart and gaining a Grammy award for Best Rock Album of 2004.
